AGNAIL is a fast-growing recycling, waste management...

AGNAIL is a fast-growing recycling, waste management, and brokerage group covering the UK and Ireland providing their clients with sustainable solutions for their recycling needs. Agnail operates the largest recycling business in Northern Ireland through its subsidiary Bailey Waste Recycling.

Over the years, the Bailey Waste Recycling customer base has been growing and so has the throughput of materials to its sites. Directors Michael O’Callaghan and Paddy McBride, wanted something that would keep up with the demands of their increasing throughputs and - support the continued evolution of Bailey Waste Recycling from a recyclable focused business into a leading provider of total waste management services.

The importance of high throughput, reliability and energy efficiency meant that Presona’s super energy efficient Pre-Press baler was their ultimate choice where increased processing capacity could be met without costing the planet. Presona’s vision of seeing a world where recycling just works, fits perfectly with Agnails ambition to be at the forefront of recycling and waste management in Northern Ireland.

Director Paddy McBride said “The actions of the team at Presona really showed a true commitment and dedication to supporting Agnail in every step of material flow, baler selection and installation process. Presona have also shown a real passion to understand our needs and what we require from an asset that will be at the heart of our operations in our Lurgan depot.

Michael also added, “We want our equipment to be sustainable, economic and efficient to support the Bailey Waste Recycling business to remain at the front of their growing market and this is why we decided on a Presona baler and conveyor for our recycling materials.”

The baler of choice to maximise Agnail’s throughputs, efficiency and capacity is the LP110 CH6S. This huge baler is capable of processing up to 50 tonnes of material an hour which accumulates to over 215,000 tonnes of various materials each year. That’s a significant amount of board, plastics and other recycled materials – all being diverted from landfill and oceans and making a difference to seeing a world where recycling just works!

Not only have Agnail invested in a Presona baler, they have also decided on Presona UK’s very own, purpose-built conveyor system; the PreVeya.

The PreVeya has been designed and built to cope with the ruggedness of the recycling industry. Service and maintenance cost can be greatly reduced due to the modular design and construction of their conveyor. This in turn minimises downtime on the equipment, as there is no need for hot works like welding to be carried out. The team will be able to come in, unbolt and replace if necessary, getting them back up and running in no time.

Presona and Agnail are working together with a circular economy focus to see a world where recycling just works!
